Cal Dismisses Boise State

(#7 3-0) California 63 - (#15 0-2) Boise State 0

SAN FRANCISCO - California played their first home game of the season against media darling #15 Boise State, their first game at AT&T park. Cal's home crowd would be much smaller at the home of the San Francisco Giants, but fans packed the park to see Cal take on the WAC superpower.

"I don't think the venue is going to do much" said Coach London during an interview on ESPN "we play anywhere anytime, it won't matter. We definitely miss Memorial, but the [ocean] view is nice here and I got to meet Willy [Mays], so I think we can make it work."

Cal certainly didn't miss a beat and handed out their worst beating of the season. The Golden Bear offense is developing into a juggernaut under QB Beau Sweeney, who set a career record for passing yards with only 15 completions. Boise State's defense managed to grab Sweeney's first INT of the season, but they couldn't cover WR Marvin Jones and completely forgot about TE Anthony Miller who totaled a whopping 144 yards and 2 TD on two catches.

Boise State's offense wasn't much better off, although QB Kellen Moore tried his best to get the win. Cal picked off Moore twice and completely shut down the running game, thanks to their defense Cal enjoyed a 569-147 advantage in offensive yards. CBs Josh Hill and Terrance Miller both picked off Moore and made most of his day a nightmare. The Golden Bears completely destroyed any chances of Boise State making a BCS bowl, and it should be a long time before anyone brings them up as National Title contenders.
