Green Blooms In The Desert

(5-4) Arizona State 0 - (#2 10-0) California 56

GLENDALE -
Cal went from the rainy Northwest to the sweltering desert to take on Arizona State this week. Apparently pounding Washington wasn't impressive, so the Bears dropped their #1 ranking. Callisto beat #2 Alabama 36-24 to leapfrog over Cal, setting up a possible Bears-Calicos title game.

Cal's offense finally took a hit this week, although you couldn't tell looking at the score. QB Kyle Boehm had his worst game of the season, throwing 2INT and only 3TD, but he still managed to rack up 300 yards. HB Darrell Green's Heisman resume got another boost with 156 yards on the ground and 142 int he air, the 6 total TD will look great when voting starts.

Green tramples the Sun Devils.

Cal's defense must have been in Arizona State's huddle, because the Bears were a brick wall as far as the Sun Devils were concerned. The Sun Devils ended up with -35 rushing yards, which helped them to finish the game with 45 total yards of offense. RE/OLB Chris Martin added to his career sack total with 3 more today, the Bears head home to close out the Pac-10 with all the momentum in the world.
