(#1 8-0) California 63 - (3-4) Oregon State 0
BERKELEY - Cal continued their home stand against Oregon State today, and a win would get them through the meat of the Pac-10 schedule. Cal is just four games away from winning the conference again, but they will have to survive three rough road games to do it.
Cal's offense came to play again, and the use of the read option completely destroyed Oregon State. QB Kyle Boehm spread most of his 276 yards between twins Mike and DeAndre Brown, but most of the damage was done in the second half. Boehm (140) and HB Darrell Green (147) lit up the Beaver's defense for 287 yards and 4TD on the ground, completely crushing any chance of them getting into the game. This marks Boehm's first 100+ yard game.
Mike Riley must have forgotten to watch tape of the Cal-Arizona game, because they managed to do even less on offense. Oregon State doesn't look the same without HB Jacquizz Rodgers, and Cal completely ate them alive on offense. The Beavers still have senior QB Ryan Katz, but it didn't do much for the offense. Oregon State could barely get across Cal's 30, and specialized in 3-and-outs and sacks. Cal finished this game with a 563-32 advantage in total offense.
