(1-1) Colorado 0 - (#9 2-0) California 54
BOULDER - Cal continued their romp through the Rocky Mountains with a trip to Colorado, hoping to walk out with their spot in the Top 10 ranking. The Buffs would be looking to return the favor on their 31-9 loss in Berkeley, but most fans were just hoping to keep the Bears from humiliating them.
The Golden Bears started right where they left off last week at Utah and came out gunning for the endzone. QB Beau Sweeney came out throwing and hit WR Marvin Jones again and again for 168 yards and 3TD. Sweeney looked sharp all game, going 13/16, and gave the Bears a massive 35-0 lead at halftime. After the half Cal went to HBs Covaughn Deboskie-Johnson and Darrell Green and wore down the Buffs defense and the clock, closing out this game with ease.
Cal's defense looked merciless all game, and completely destroyed the Colorado offensive line. Chris Martin tormented the Buffs all game and nearly missed out on DT Kendrick Payne's safety. Cal's speedy freshman Terrance Miller has taken over the starting job at CB from Josh Hill, and looked like a true shutdown corner. Coach London and his players have started referring to his position as Miller Island, going forward he could prove to be a black hole for opposing receivers.
