(#5 9-0) California 52 - (3-6) Arizona State 0
PULLMAN - California continued their northern trip with a stop in Washington. With a #5 ranking and a 3-5 Washington State on the menu Cal's fans could expect a 9-0 team in Berkeley on Sunday.
This game was not much a surprise to anyone, and the final scored shocked nobody. Cal did what they have done all season and gave the Cougars a heavy dose of Shane Vereen. Vereen carried the ball 30 times and found the endzone 5 times. Riley was also sharp and went 11/15, finding his new favorite receiver Michael Calvin for one of his two TD passes.
Cal's defense played well and held Washington state to 98 yards of total offense. Cal would board the bus and prepare for a three game home stand that would decide the Pac-10.
