Sun Devils Burned At Home

(3-7) Arizona State 0 - (#1 10-0) California 105

GLENDALE -
Cal headed out to the desert to face Arizona State today, the game would be riddled with story lines. The Sun Devils have been particularly bad against the Golden Bears, and the fans let the Bears know it with some of the loudest booing all season. Making things more interesting was Arizona State's HB, Isi Sofele, a former Cal player. Sofele would be very motivated to have a big game against his former school.

Cal saved the best for 3rd to last apparently. Its hard to tell what was going on, but the Bears came out with a vengeance today and nearly racked up 1000 yards of offense. The Sun Devils just couldn't stop Cal, QB Kyle Boehm (474 passing) and HB Darrell Green (443 rushing) both had over 400 yards of offense. Green made it worse by adding 109 receiving yards. This was basically a yardage free for all, Mike Brown, DeAndre Brown, Dexton Fields, and Green all had 100+ receiving yards. With the score 56-0 at the half, it was sheer luck Cal stopped at 105. Cal finished with 500 rushing yards... brutal.

Green's 500+ yards of offense were shocking.

The Sun Devils offense didn't help keep Cal at bay, and Isi Sofele didn't get his revenge. Arizona State QB Mario Allen dropped a deuce with a 12/28 86 yard 2INT performance, but Sofele really stunk it up with -19 rushing yards on 16 carries. The Sun Devils' spread offense was eaten alive by RE/OLB Austin English and probably should have just taken a knee every play. Cal finished this game with a 974-33 yard advantage in offensive yards... shocking.
